Melody Goodell
About Melody
Melody Goodell is an actor, singer and dancer who has performed at the Golden Apple Dinner Theatre, Theatre Row, Sarasota VPA Center, Constans Theatre and the Phillips Center for Performing Arts. Some of her favorite roles include Janet in The Rocky Horror Show, Mayzie LaBird in Seussical the Musical!, Yvonne in Sunday...George, Woman 2 in Songs for a New World, Graziella/Girl in West Side Story, Panacea in A Funny...Forum, Alice in The Rise and Rise of Daniel Rocket, and Cinderella’s mother/Granny/Lady Giant in Into the Woods.

Melody graduated from Booker High School’s Visual and Performing Arts Theatre program in Sarasota. Most recently she graduated cum laude from the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in music theatre and a minor in dance. While at UF she held the position of Secretary and Assistant Artistic Director of the student run theatre company Florida Players. She also had a stint in politics as she was elected the senate representative for the College of Fine Arts for the 2008-09 term. Along with her performance and administrative work she had the opportunity to direct the play Look Back in Anger at the Phillips Center Black Box Theatre. In her final semester at UF she received the Gator-tones Outstanding Musical Theatre student distinction scholarship. Additionally Melody spent time in London participating the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts Shakespeare Summer Intensive. She is also in the Actor’s Equity Membership Candidacy program.

She has had some film experience hosting educational shows and taken part in informational videos for the state of Florida’s elections office.

Melody has also had the privilege to do some assistant stage management work on Urinetown the Musical. She also assisted and performed in Devil Land at the NY Summer Play Festival.

In her free time Melody enjoys going to museums of all kinds, dancing, collecting hotwheels cars, and traveling with family and friends. She has become a Gator fan after four years in the Gator Nation and prefers basketball to football.
